New Patch Gear Progression Guide

“DUNGEON ASSAULT” patch will come to Tera EU in October, bringing new sets of gear and accesories that will make the old ones pretty obsolete. Be ready for it ! Read the following guidlines (I will refer mostly to PvP-related aspects).

New Gear – Short Presentation

Strikeforce  (aka New Conjunct, Ruthless Conjunct, Conjunct 2) will be the mainstream PvP gear, pretty easy to get (you can actually get it in the first days) and quite powerful. So try to get it / +12 it ASAP. It requires moderate Bellicarium – Fraywind & Corsairs’ Stronghold and Killing Spree – 3v3 Champions’ Skyring farming, plus your old Conjunct set.

Nightforge PvP (aka PvP Visionmaker 2, Ruthless Visionmaker, PvP New Visionmaker) is supposed to be the top/OP PvP gear. Still, due to some strange/bugged PvP dmg proc, Nightforge weapon and chest is ~same as the top PvE gear, even in PvP. There are rumors that this will be corrected in the future. Nightforge hands and boots are the absolute best for PvP. Crafting Nightforge requires:
– “hardcore” farming of Killing Spree Credits – 3v3 Champions’ Skyring and BG credits
– either Bloodrave or Old Visionmaker piece
– Superior (Gold) Bezoars
– also, crafting the hands require a rating of 1800+ in 3v3 Champions’ Skyring !
Basically Nightforge is 15-20 times harder to get compared to Strikeforce.
Compared to Strikeforce, Nightforge weapon and chest will give u an extra stat, also the chest will provide extra “things” (dmg, etc) for one skill (same as it was with VM vs Conj.).

So for the start PvE Wonderholme (PvE, instance drop, “New Regent”) weapon might be best for some classes because of the PvP dmg “bug” – but this should be corrected in the future I guess. Also for chest the PvE Nightforge (aka New PvE Visionmaker) or even Wonderholme (aka New Regent) are viable options. Hands and boots: PvP Nightforge is the absolute best, followed by Strikeforce.
Also, keep in mind that Strikeforce is more than enough for any PvE content, including the new instances.

See the screenshots of the new gear at the end of the article.

Conclusions & Suggestions !!! Read Them, Follow Them !!

I strongly recommend all Fragster members to take the following actions before the patch !!
I know is strange, but I’ve put the conclusions first because maybe some ppl will not read the entire article, and I find the following suggestions a must.

1. Farm BGs !! Be ready for the  Strikeforce (New Conjunct) Set. It requires 26k BG credits (after patch, now 48.4k) + 12.6k KS credits. Since price for the BG mats will decrease a lot after patch, try to cap your main+alts to 10k credits, and first day after patch buy the mats. If you are capped already stock Victor’s Orthoclase.
2. Strikeforce (New Conjunct) will be more than enough for any PvE content too (is 20-30% stronger in PvE than old Visionmaker).
3. Stock MWA, MES, fodders ! Prices will increase ! Remember you will need over 1000 MWA and 200-300 MES to make the new set +12.
4. First thing you should craft are the hands for extra attack speed, see below why.
5. If you can, don’t use your +12 Conjunct hands and boots to craft the new set, make new +0 Conjunct hands + boots and use those instead, hands and boots are easy/cheap to craft ( reason: an enchant acceleration system might be implemented like in KR and NA, where you can use the +12 old items for enchanting new items with a lot higher chance or even 100% chance).
6. Healers: Not sure yet but old weapons (VM/BR/Kelsaik) might be better – at least in some situations like mystic in mass fights: extra HP + extra atk speed with the old ones.
7. Be prepared to do lots of Arena 3v3 after patch.
8. Patch will modify a lot the fighting system, major changes: more crits, more crit damage, more HP on every class, more attack speed for every1, less reflect.
9. After patch sales tax will be applied on broker even when you negociate price. Has 2 implications: first, when you buy something expensive you will probably /w the seller, the seller will take the item off the broker and trade you directly; second: this is a money sink ingame, so long term will drive prices down a little (deflation, money dissapear from the game).

Things Required to Craft the New Gear

Strikeforce (aka New Conjunct, Ruthless Conjunct, Conjunct 2)

Strikeforce ItemBG Credits (after patch)BG Credits (before patch)KS CreditsOld Conjunct Piece
Weapon10.8k ( 9 x Victor's Orthoclase )19.8k ( 9 x Victor's Orthoclase )5.4k ( 3 x Dreamstriker Ore )CJ Weapon
Armor8.4k ( 7 x Victor's Orthoclase )15.4k ( 7 x Victor's Orthoclase )3.6k ( 2 x Dreamstriker Ore )CJ Armor
Hands3.6k ( 3 x Victor's Orthoclase )6.6k ( 3 x Victor's Orthoclase )1.8k ( 1 x Dreamstriker Ore )CJ Hands
Boots3.6k ( 3 x Victor's Orthoclase )6.6k ( 3 x Victor's Orthoclase )1.8k ( 1 x Dreamstriker Ore )CJ Boots
Total26.4k BG Credits48.4k BG Credits12.6k KS Credits

Victor’s Orthoclase = 2.2k BG credits now ; 1.2k BG credits after patch.
Dreamstriker Ore (new mat) = 1.8k KS credits.
You might add the price for designs: wep=500KS, chest=400KS, hands=300KS, boots=300KS, or you can buy them with gold from others (designs are tradeable).
Since the price of Orthoclase will drop after patch, is better to have your main+alts capped at ~10k BG credits right before the patch, and buy the Orhoclases after.

Nightforge (aka PvP Visionmaker 2, Ruthless Visionmaker, PvP New Visionmaker)

Strikeforce ItemBG CreditsKS CreditsSuperior (Gold) BezoarsOld Piece
Weapon33k ( 11 x Victor's Trophy )64k ( 16 x Sturdy Forge Pitch )40BR or VM1 Weapon
Armor24k ( 8 x Victor's Trophy )48k ( 12 x Sturdy Forge Pitch )30BR or VM1 Armor
Hands12k ( 4 x Victor's Trophy )25k ( 6 x Sturdy Forge Pitch + 1 x Flexible Forge Pitch - requires 3v3 rating 1800+ )15BR or VM1 Hands
Boots12k ( 4 x Victor's Trophy )24k ( 6 x Sturdy Forge Pitch )15BR or VM1 Boots
Total81k BG Credits161k KS Credits100

Victor’s Trophy = 3k BG credits (now & after the patch, price will stay the same).
Sturdy Forge Pitch (new mat) = 4k KS credits.
Flexible Forge Pitch (new mat) = 1k KS credits, but it requires 1800+ rating in 3v3 arena.
Superior (Gold) Bezoar: drops from invisible BAMs in Alliance Territory, or can be made from Common (White) Bezoars. 1 Superior Bezoar will require 27 x White Bezoars + 39 Noctenium Tissues + some Infusers from Quartermaster in your alliance that will cost ~190g. Depending on server/economy/time, 1 Superior Bezoar will cost in broker 6k-20k gold (expect 10k+ gold in Killian server).
You might add the price for designs: wep=500KS, chest=400KS, hands=300KS, boots=300KS, or you can buy them with gold from others (designs are tradeable).

New Gear – New Stats

The new gear comes with a set of new rollable stats, and many of the old stats dissapeared. Also there are no more “+0” stats, so no more “double boss dmg” rolls, etc. Also check the gear screenshots at the end of the article.

The New Attack Speed Thingie

With the new sets, the attack speed stats change a little: less attack speed on weapon, some attack speed on gloves, more attack speed from jewelry.

Example:
Old Conjunct Weapon setup: 2 x 8.5% from Weapon + max. 6% from Necklace => You can now get max. +23% (but many don’t use the 6% CoF Neck).
Strikeforce (New Conjunct) & New Jewelry Set: max. 13.5% from Weapon + 4.5% from Gloves + 6% from Necklace + 4% Jewelry set bonus => You can get max. +28%
5% difference ^^

Not necesarily all possible atk speed must be rolled, maybe in some items other stats will be better, but need some tests before a conclusion.
Still, one suggestion: craft hands first.

Price Evolution for Important Items

Probably all the new gear will create more demand for things like MES, MWA, etc., resulting in price increase. I documented some price evolutions in Tera NA (2 weeks before the patch vs. 2 weeks after patch), not necesarely same thing will happen in EU .. :

Masterwork Alkahest: 50% price increase 2 weeks after patch
Master Enigmatic Scrolls:  58% price increase 2 weeks after patch
Argon Vitriol: 90% price decrease 2 weeks after patch
Semi-Enigmatic Scroll:  75% price increase 2 weeks after patch
Gold Fodders: 30%-50% price increase 2 weeks after patch, hands increased the most
Superior Bezoar: same price ( only ~2 days before and after patch price doubled, then it dropped )

New Jewelry

Not a lot to say here, you will probably use a mix of New Jewelry (drop, easy to get, stats rerollable, set bonuses, more info here) and old ones (Kelsaik Neck, Rings of Pain, etc).

Ty for reading, hope it was helpful. Maybe I will update this with PvE part: Wonderholme, PvE Nightforge etc and some real tests .. or maybe not 😛
In the meantime PvE stats & other things can be checked here.
